Well, I'm at my mom's for Christmas now.  And, I forgot my laundry at home :o(  So I now have to wash jeans everyday, because I only have 1 pair with me. I'm going to have to drive back home anyways to pay my rent after Christmas, so that's when I'll get the laundry too.

My mom, Gersh, & I went to see the Golden Compass yesterday.  I got to annoy Gersh at the theater by talking all through the movie with comments like "Well in the book...."  I feel kind of bad now.  The movie was very edited.  The movie was about "the powers in control" kidnapping children to rip their souls away to make people more docile.  The book, however, was about the Catholic Church kidnapping children to rip their souls away in the hopes of getting rid of original sin.  And maybe to make them easier to brainwash too, but I don't remember that being in the book.  The people in the book who didn't die from having their souls ripped away were rather bland, but that wasn't the REASON for the souls being cut away.  They simplified a bunch of stuff from the book actually.  I recommend the book, but unless u want  to see the pretty CG animals, I wouldn't bother with the movie.

I got a kitty!  She's so soft & cuddly!  When she gets scared, she burrows herself under the 4 blankets I have on my bed.  So I have to be very careful to not lay on the bed without feeling for bumps.  she's a fawn & light gray tabby shorthaired.  She looks very much like a little snow leopard cub.  I was supposed to have pictures, but they got lost somewhere in transmission from Gersh's phone to my email :o(  I wish I had a camera phone.  I haven't named her yet, I'm thinking Aurora or Aztec of something.  No, not Aztec.  Now that I think of it, it sounds too much like an SUV.  But still maybe Aurora.  Or Audrey.  I'm still thinking on it.  She likes to chew on my fingers.  Silly kitten.  She's 6 months old, they think.  The owners weren't sure on her name or her age.  She was taken to my mom because her crappy previous owner was moving & wasn't about to take her "pet" with her.  I hate people like that.  She's never been to vet either.  No shots & no spaying, nothing.  I'm not sure I can take her to my apt, they charge $200, plus $25 a month.  I'm going to call & make sure on that though.  Either way, I'm going to be in Moon till like October, so it's only 10 months, but my lease runs out either Oct 1st or Sept 1st, so it'll be less time than that anyway.  Then hopefully I'll have a house soon after school.  I don't think living with my mom again is a good idea, I want a place of my own.  But we'll have to see my finances when the time comes.

Well, I need to get going.

Mmmm...steamed broccoli

In case anyone reading this is not aware of my computer problems, here goes.  Right before my birthday, my computer screen went all funny. Everyone I talked to said it's junk, & I need a new computer.  So I spend $1700 on a new laptop.  Well, now that I have everything hooked up, I turned my old laptop back on to transfer some files.  Well guess what?!  In the month that it sat, untouched, it managed to fix itself!  That's the last time I listen to Bill!!! (Long story...Bill is a friend of my brother's, & like 5 years ago when I was having car problems I thought I'd leave it be to fix itself & he told me machines aren't people, they don't fix their problems, their problems only get worse.) So now, yeah, ok, I have 2 functional computers, but I'm almost $2,000 in debt.  I think maybe I'll take the old laptop to my mom's to make Butler seem more bareable.  Bearable?  That word confuses me...is it spelled like nakedness, or like big cute fuzzy omnivores? I get to go to this fancy work party thing tomorrow with Gersh.  I got a pretty green sparkly Christmas dress.  I hope all goes well, I can't remembered what I ordered to eat, so hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised.  Speaking of food, I bought this steamed broccoli that u just stab the bag & microwave.  I have no freezer, & I'm not a fan of frozen veggies anyways, but this refridgeratable stuff is great!  It's called "Broccoli Wokly".  I'd like to say that I didn't fall for their marketing ploy & that I bought it because I was in the mood for broccoli, but come on..."Broccoli Wokly"...it screams "You must have me!!!" more than shiny things. But funny name or no, I'll be buying it again, this stuff is great.  Anybody else put salt on their steamed broccoli?  Advent started at Gersh's house (well, for everyone I guess), so I went over there last Sunday & I'll be there every Sunday night till Christmas.  Advent is fun.  I always drag my mom along with me too.  Ok well, I'd better go clean, I want to Pine Sol my floors tonight.

Happy Birthday to me!!!

Well, actually the birthday was yesterday.  But oh well.  October just flew by!!!  So here I am, 1 year older.  I just turned 22.  I'm already getting wrinkles on my forehead & they don't card me at the liquor store anymore.  Sucks huh?  But oh well.

This quarter sucks at school.  I hate transcription!!!!  Ugh...stupid class.  Coding, however, is super fun.  Mayhaps I'll be a coder someday.  And, after a year of beig a coder, I could work from home!  & still make $40,000 to $50,000 a year.  Not super great money, for for a 2 year school, I can't complain.  At least it's not Subway right?

I found out this super creepy person lives in my apt complex.  Even creepier than Nipple Man...so this is really creepy bad news.  I got a new neighbor though!  2 doors down.  He seems really young.  Must be going to school fresh out of highschool.  I haven't really talked to him yet (& I probably won't).  So that's what new in the apt complex.

I went to Zombiefest!!!  It was AWESOME!!!!!  Ok, well the con itself sucked, but Max Brooks was there & he was AMAZING.  Super fun stuff.  He's such a geek!!!  He's the type of person I could see myself hanging out with.  He was just awesome.  If he ever comes back anywhere near here, I'm soooo going.

Ok well, that's all that's new.  Time to study  (ugh)

I am Cold!!!

Brrrr...today I went roller blading in the deserted Target parking lot...in a tank top (the sweater I wore over it was black & I didn't think it wise to roller blade at night wearing black.)  Ever since...I've been freezing...The hot bath didn't even help.  Speaking of hot baths...after years, many years, or shaving my legs every freaking day, I'm sick of it!!!  It just gets so repetitive.  But oh well....it could be much worse, right!  Speaking of leg shaving...I've been trying to avoid those Venus razors...they're manufactured by P&G Corp., which tests on animals.  Go ahead, get on their website...they'll go on about how all their products are environmentally safe because all their products are "tested".  I emailed them once about what exactly they meant by "testing"...in a very polite way...they never wrote back.  Other products made by P&G Corp. include Duracell batteries, febreeze, I think Downy, Dawn dish detergent, & hundreds of other name brand products.  Woohoo.  So yeah, I just thought I'd put that info out there.

I bought pumpkin scented conditioner for my hair.  I smell super great!  Deb (my hair dresser) used it on my hair when I had my app, & I got all excited "Oh my God!!!!  Is that pumpkin scented stuff?!  I want to buy it!!!"...so I bought every bottle they had....mmmm.....pumpkin scented hair products..... keep going back...but they have yet to restock.

Bella got to go to PetSmart today.  I also took her to the Grove City Outlets for the first time the other day.  Some pug gave her a tick...I think it was the pug at least.  She's on Frontline & was just on antibiotics due to a tick, so she's safe.  She's had 4 ticks on her in the past 2 weeks.  Poor thing.  Ticks are really active this time of year, & Bella loves to get into things.

I got the Legend of Kay for my PS2 the other day (Bad Stephanie!  Bad!).  So far, it's tons of fun.  I get to play a cat who knows karate & beats up on rats, monkeys, & bears.  It's rated E for everyone though, so not too violent (Haha...I hardly ever buy anything rated over T for Teen).  I get to ride on boars & eventually other things too hopefully.  Fun Fun.  I think I'm going to get mom some video games for Christmas...she's been saying how she wants to play something.

Ok well, I'm off to bed!  Blankets & fleece sheets!!!  Woohoo!

Rebel Against Mediocrity

For the love of God, why?!  A lot of people I know & overhear have been going on about how they rebel against "mediocrity".  When they explain, they go into detail about the evils of suburbia, mini vans, getting married, having kids & working 9 to 5.  Have people in this country grown so lazy that they can't even find something worthwhile to speak out against?  Granted, most people in this country don't have to deal with persecution firsthand, but that doesn't mean that there's nothing wrong with the world if they'd look even a little bit.

Oh wait...I forgot...I guess all these spoiled brats are "persecuted"?  Mommy made they stay home from the homecoming game?  They had to get up for church too many Sundays?  Or maybe they just plain weren't "loved enough."  After all, compared to things like female circumcision, slavery, abuse (any abuse...from animal to elderly), genocide, homelessness, etc, these kids have it pretty rough...yeah right.

My opinion:  Laziness.  Pure & simple.  People don't want to have to actually fight for what they believe in, nor do they want to do anything for themselves.  So they "protest" normalcy by wearing "expressive" clothing (paid for by Mommy & Daddy), & spend their lives sitting around simply existing...I guess maybe because "mediocre" people work?  Or want to work?  Or at least have goals?

It's odd, because these people shout out about how "different" they are.  They won't conform!  All the while, I personally find them to be the most dull out of just about everybody. It seems to me the normal, or "simple," people seem to be the ones having a more positive effect on others.  They don't spend all their energy trying to show off their differences, they just do what they feel is right.  That's what makes a person truly different, they fix things without an audience needed.

Ok so there's my rant.  It was not directed at anybody in particular...if I consider u a friend, then u are not one of the people to which I'm referencing.  :o)
